Google Android 2.2: Best Tech Product of 2010?

My former colleagues over at PCWorld Magazine are out with their annual list of the year's 100 best technology products, and several cell phone related items are on the list. In fact, the latest version of Google's Android operating system, version 2.2, has earned the top spot on the list, showing that 2010 has been a very big year for Android, indeed.

Android 2.2, which PCWorld notes is expected to surpass Apple's iOS in market share this year, earned the top spot with its "powerful apps, a slick interfce, and extreme customizabililty." PCWorld also likes that the OS is available on a a variety of phones and devices, and from a variety of carriers, which is in direct contrast to Apple's iOS.

Also on the list: Samsung's Epic 4G smartphone, at number 8; Apple's iPhone 4, at number 13; HTC's HD7 at number 15; Motorola's Droid X at number 25; the Google Voice app, at number 34; HTC's Droid Incredible phone at number 47; the SlingPlayer Mobile app at number 48; Lookout's Mobile Security app, at number 56; and the Jabra Clipper Bluetooth headset at number 74.
